Sarap pumutok!

Congratulations to the vice mayors who participated in the 2nd VM Alvin Fernandez Cup!

As what VM Alfredo Frias stated "super enjoy talaga, ang sarap palang pumutok!"

The shooting competition among vice mayors had several purposes:

1. To strengthen the fellowship and better understanding among VMs through sports competition.

2. To have a basic knowledge on gun safety, which was taught by Mr. Butch Gutierrez.

3. To be able to handle and fire a gun using the basic principles taught by the Dagupan Practical Shooters Association headed by President Mario Lim.

4. To be exposed in the different courses available in the five stages designed by Range Master Christian Yap as approved by Range Director Louie Nazareno.

5. To simply enjoy the company of other gun enthusiasts coming from the different gun clubs of Northern Luzon.

With the recent events in our country from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, vice mayors always figure in violent ambush or violent deaths because of firearms.

The recent shootfest was an opportunity for vice mayors to understand gun handling and safety, which could be one way of defending themselves from any untoward incidents that may come their way.

But more than that, it was an opportunity to simply understand and enjoy the sports called practical shooting.
